Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)

Hysterosalpingography (HSG) is an X-ray procedure used to look at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area of the pelvis around them, often done for women having a hard time becoming pregnant. HSG is used to see if a woman’s fallopian tubes are partly or fully blocked, and to evaluate the size and shape of her uterus. HSG may also be used a few months after some sterilization procedures to ensure that the fallopian tubes have been completely occluded.
