Life is hard to organize and rarely goes according to plan, especially when it comes to building a family. Dr. Fahmy and Dr. Roesner understand this and help you take control where you can through family planning, which includes:

If you’re not ready to start a family, there are a number of solutions that help you avoid an unwanted pregnancy. To give you a better idea of the incredible array of options, it helps to divide birth control into the following categories:

Hormonal

The goal behind hormonal birth control is to regulate your ovulation so that you don’t get pregnant. And there are many ways to do that, including:
  • Birth control pill
  • Nexplanon® implant
  • Injections
  • Patches
  • IUD

Patients of Dr. Fahmy and Dr. Roesner have had great success with the Nexplanon implant and IUD because these methods take the guesswork out of birth control.

Another way to stop conception is to prevent sperm from reaching your eggs, which can be accomplished through:

  • Tubal ligation

On the other end of the spectrum, if you’d like to get pregnant and you’re experiencing problems, Dr. Fahmy and Dr. Roesner offer FemVue®. If you think about all that needs to happen for conception, you begin to realize that problems can occur anywhere along the way, including:
  • Ovulation
  • Blockages in your fallopian tubes
  • Medical conditions, such as endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome
In order to figure out whether the problem lies in your fallopian tubes, Dr. Fahmy uses FemVue. With this device, Dr. Fahmy introduces a mixture of saline and air into each of your fallopian tubes and, using the Sono HSG, he tracks air bubbles to check the flow and whether blockages exist.
If they detect a blockage, Dr. Fahmy and Dr. Roesner will discuss how they can remove it in order to better allow you to conceive.
